Ethics in Real Estate “Spoofing Tag Lines”
As REALTORS we are held to a high standard of performance. I take great pride in conducting myself and my company with the highest thoughtfulness to my clients and fellow Realtors.
Recently while working on my web presence I came across a Real Estate company that has chosen to ride the coat tails of my rankings on the internet, to the point of copying format; The problem with this is it is not good for MY rankings and will hurt the spoofers rankings as well. This is dangerous as Google will eliminate both of us..
I know it is said “Imitation is the Sincerest Form of Flattery”. I can tell you that all goes out the window when hard work and money is involved. I knew years ago the internet would play a large part in the marketing of my companies services.I have spent years honing, developing, & branding my identity on the web. Now I am not so niave to believe there are not knock-offs for everything we see. However there comes a point in certain situations “especially when the offending spoofer does business just around the corner” when thoughtful consideration should be adhered to, besides don’t these people WANT their own identity?. I take great pride in setting myself away from the pack of nameless unimaginative business people.I would no more consider spoofing someone’s tag line whether it be partial or whole. I worked incredibly hard investigating the correct words, colors & look for my company and I expect any company that holds themselves to a higher standard to offer the same considerations.
So when you see the words “Coastal Carolina Lifestyle ” you know that is a company you can trust and and that company is me Rene Hunter.
No Spoofing here just the honest facts.
